Lamelle Skin Peels

Skin peels, also known as chemical peels, are a popular cosmetic treatment used to improve the appearance and texture of the skin. The procedure involves applying a chemical solution to the skin, which exfoliates the outer layers, promoting the removal of dead skin cells and stimulating the regeneration of new, healthier skin. Skin peels can be customized to target specific skin concerns, including fine lines, acne, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone.

There are three main types of chemical peels:

  1. Superficial Peels – These involve the use of mild acids (like glycolic or salicylic acid) to gently exfoliate the outer layer of the skin. They are typically used for improving skin texture, mild acne, and overall brightness.

  2. Medium Peels – These penetrate deeper into the skin, usually with trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or similar ingredients, and are effective for treating more noticeable signs of aging, acne scars, and uneven pigmentation.

  3. Deep Peels – These stronger peels use stronger acids like phenol and penetrate deep into the skin to treat severe wrinkles, deep scarring, and sun damage. They require a longer recovery time and are usually done by trained dermatologists or medical professionals.

Skin peels can help promote collagen production, leading to firmer, smoother skin. The results typically improve over time as new skin cells emerge, and many people see visible improvements after just a few treatments. However, the procedure does require some aftercare to ensure the skin heals properly and to protect it from sun damage during the healing process.

Microneedling

Skin needling, or microneedling, harnesses the skin’s inherent capacity for self-repair following physical damage, such as cuts and abrasions. This cutting-edge treatment capitalizes on the body’s intrinsic healing mechanisms, facilitating the regeneration of fresh, healthy tissue accompanied by novel collagen production. At Mellow Clinic, we ensure that each procedure is meticulously tailored to address your specific skin requirements, providing expert care and yielding optimal results.

We can visibly improve the appearance of:

Fine Lines

Wrinkles

Surgical Acne and Trauma Scars

Stretch Marks

Pigmentation

Dermapen

The Dermapen is a revolutionary microneedling device.  It consists of 2 parts, an electrical hand piece and a disposable needle tip containing 12 microscopic needles.  The depth of penetration is fully adjustable between 0 to 2,5mm to accommodate any area or concern.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a popular non-invasive skincare treatment designed to exfoliate and renew the skin’s surface, improving its appearance and texture. The procedure uses a specialized device to gently exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin, removing dead skin cells and promoting the growth of fresh, healthy skin. It is often used to address concerns like fine lines, acne scars, uneven skin tone, age spots, and general skin dullness.

We offer:

Crystal Microdermabrasion – This technique involves the use of tiny, abrasive crystals (usually aluminum oxide) that are sprayed onto the skin and then vacuumed away, carrying away dead skin cells.

The treatment is typically quick (around 30 minutes to an hour) and is usually painless, though patients may feel a slight scratching or mild pressure during the procedure. Microdermabrasion also stimulates blood flow and encourages collagen production, which helps improve skin tone and texture over time.

Since the procedure is minimally invasive, there’s little to no downtime, and most people can return to their regular activities immediately after treatment. A series of treatments is often recommended for optimal results, with improvements becoming more noticeable after several sessions. The procedure is suitable for most skin types and tones, though it’s always best to consult with a skincare professional to ensure it’s appropriate for your specific needs.

Vampire Facial

A vampire facial, also known as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy, is a cutting-edge, non-surgical treatment designed to rejuvenate and restore the skin. The procedure involves using the patient’s own blood to enhance the skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance.

Here’s how it works: First, a small amount of the patient’s blood is drawn and then processed in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the red blood cells. The resulting Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is rich in growth factors that can promote healing, collagen production, and skin regeneration. The PRP is then micro-needled into the skin’s surface using tiny, fine needles.

The combination of PRP and micro-needling stimulates the skin’s natural healing process, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and stretch marks. It also improves skin texture, tone, and overall radiance. The treatment encourages collagen production, which helps the skin look more youthful and rejuvenated over time.

Although the procedure is often called a “vampire facial” due to the use of blood, it’s minimally invasive and typically has little downtime. Some redness and mild swelling may occur, but most patients can return to their daily activities shortly after treatment. For optimal results, a series of treatments may be recommended, depending on the individual’s skin concerns and goals.

Since the treatment uses the patient’s own blood, there’s minimal risk of allergic reactions or complications, making it a safe and effective option for many individuals looking to improve their skin.

Dermaplaining

Dermaplaning is a popular, non-invasive facial treatment that involves gently exfoliating the skin by removing dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (often referred to as peach fuzz) using a sterile surgical scalpel. This process leaves the skin feeling smooth, soft, and looking more radiant.

During the procedure, a trained professional uses the scalpel to carefully scrape away the outermost layer of dead skin cells and unwanted hair. The treatment is quick, painless, and usually doesn’t require any downtime. Dermaplaning can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and uneven skin tone, giving the skin a fresh, glowing look.

One of the key benefits of dermaplaning is that it allows for better absorption of skincare products, as it removes the barrier of dead skin cells. This can enhance the effectiveness of moisturizers, serums, and other treatments. Additionally, makeup tends to apply more smoothly and evenly after dermaplaning.

Dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types, except for those with active acne or certain skin conditions like rosacea. Since it’s a gentle procedure, it’s often used as a pre-treatment to other facial treatments like chemical peels or facials for enhanced results. Regular sessions can help maintain smooth, glowing skin.

Cautersining

In cosmetics, cauterizing is often used to remove or treat skin imperfections, such as warts, moles, or lesions, by applying controlled heat or chemicals to the affected area. The procedure works by using heat or electrical current to destroy the unwanted tissue, allowing the body to naturally heal and regenerate new skin. Cauterization in cosmetic treatments is typically performed in a precise, targeted manner to minimize damage to the surrounding healthy skin.

One of the most common cosmetic uses of cauterization is for skin lesion removal, where small growths, moles, or other skin abnormalities are treated by applying heat or chemicals. The heat seals blood vessels and removes the lesion, which may then form a scab that eventually falls off, leaving behind smoother, clearer skin.

The main benefits of cauterization in cosmetics are its precision, effectiveness, and minimal invasiveness. The procedure generally requires minimal downtime, and the treated area usually heals with little scarring. However, it’s important for the procedure to be performed by a trained professional to ensure proper technique and to avoid potential side effects such as burns or scarring of healthy skin.

Cautersining

Synergie treatments are a non-surgical method for cellulite reduction that uses vacuum massage technology to improve skin texture and circulationThey work by stimulating collagen, reducing fat under the skin, and improving blood flow. The treatments can be effective for reducing the appearance of cellulite and shrinking body measurements.

How Synergie Treatments Work:

  • Vacuum Massage:

Synergie uses a device that combines suction and massage to stimulate the treatment area, stretching and increasing pressure on subcutaneous tissues.

  • Collagen Stimulation:

The massage encourages collagen production, which helps improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks.

  • Circulation Improvement:

Increased blood flow helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to the treated area, promoting tissue repair and reducing inflammation.

  • Fat Reduction:

The massage can help release fluids and fat trapped under the skin, leading to a smoother surface and reduced cellulite.

Benefits:

  • Reduced Cellulite:

The treatments can significantly reduce the appearance of cellulite, especially in areas like the buttocks, thighs, and legs.

  • Body Measurement Reduction:

Many clients report a loss in inches, indicating a reduction in body circumference.

  • Skin Smoothing:

The massage and collagen stimulation can lead to smoother and tighter skin.

  • Non-Surgical:

The treatments are non-invasive, meaning there is no downtime and no need for surgery.

  • Relaxing:

Many clients find the treatments to be comfortable and relaxing.

Treatment Plan:
  • A typical Synergie treatment plan involves multiple sessions, often with a few sessions per week for several weeks, followed by maintenance visits.
  • The number of sessions and the frequency of visits will depend on individual needs and the severity of the cellulite.

Considerations:
  • Synergie treatments are most effective when combined with a healthy lifestyle, including diet and exercise.
  • Results may vary depending on individual factors and the severity of the cellulite.
  • Weight gain can reverse the effects of the treatment, so maintaining a healthy lifestyle is importan

Anti Aging Treatments

Anti Aging Treatments

Your concerns

Sometimes, your skin is just changing. The changes might be subtle – perhaps a few textural changes and some fine lines. You might just be worried about getting older. In this case, the treatments will be more focused on treating the changes you’re seeing and preventing any further damage.

On the other hand, if you have extremely sun-damaged skin (from tanning as a student or working the cruise ships as a young adult) you might need more in-depth (and sometimes a little more invasive) treatments that will address deeper skin changes and offer powerful protection from any further damage.

How deep is the damage?

There are natural changes that happen with age and sun exposure in your skin’s epidermis (top layer of the skin that sheds) and dermis (the layer below). And each layer needs to be treated differently – dermal treatments don’t work on the epidermal layers and vice versa.

Generally, the two treatments can be combined – this is especially necessary where there are visible signs of aging, lines, wrinkles, textural changes, mottled pigment and sagging of the skin.

PROFESSIONAL ANTI-AGING TREATMENTS

Professional Alpha Peel

Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (fruit acid) derived from sugar cane. And it’s what we use to make the Alpha Chemical Skin Peel, one of the most widely used for the treatment of photo-aging – or sun-damaged skin.

Retistore and Retistore Plus Peels

When doing chemical peels or chemical resurfacing, the aim in the long term is to restructure the entire epidermis of the skin. Doing this in one treatment with any other product can be painful and result in up to 14 days of social downtime. Retinol-based Lamelle Retistore and Retistore Plus gives us full epidermal restructuring with virtually NO discomfort and a very comfortable period of downtime that is more socially acceptable.

About Retistore

Retistore Plus has double the active ingredients and is focussed on lighter skin colours where aging is more related to lines, wrinkles and sagging. Retistore is less aggressive and is focussed on darker skin colours where aging is more related to pigmentation irregularities, change in texture and dull skin.

Your skincare therapist will suggest the best treatment for the challenges you are experiencing on your skin. She will suggest a course of treatments and might start with Retistore and move over on to the Retistore Plus when she feels your skin is ready for it.

Lamelle Nova Pen: Collagen-Induction Therapy

The one and only original: Lamelle Nova Pen. The Nova Pen is a highly specialised tool that was designed through years of research. It’s used for microneedling – a process that creates multiple micro-injuries in the skin to either: help your product penetrate deeply into the skin or to stimulate the skin to remove old tissue and replace it with healthy new collagen and dermal structures for age-defying skin. This professional treatment is called Collagen-Induction Therapy.

 Collagen-Induction Therapy

Collagen induction therapy will entail and in-office treatment with a Lamelle Nova Pen that has a needle length of 1mm or more. This treatment is used to create micro injuries that will activate the inflammatory-healing processes in the deeper dermal layers of the skin.

This acute inflammatory process activates the skin’s natural removal of old, damaged collagen and elastin, as well as scar tissue. Your body will then also activate its fibroblast cells to produce more new fibroblasts (proliferation), and they in turn produce more healthy collagen, elastin and everything that lies around these structures (extracellular matrix).

In this way, the scarring (including acne scars), fine lines and texture are treated and deeper lines are softened.

PROFESSIONAL AGE-PREVENT TREATMENTS

Essentials Age Prevention Treatment

A very gentle treatment that contains some feel-good skin-pampering ingredients that make it ideal for maintaining the luster and vibrancy of younger skin.

Professional Lacti-Firm Peel

Lactic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (fruit acid) derived from milk. Lacti-firm peels, the acid is combined with a plumping ingredient – DMAE. It’s a very comfortable, skin-firming and revitalising treatment with little if any, social downtime, depending on the concentration used.

Concentrations

The two concentrations are Lacti-firm 30/10 and Lacti firm 90/10. Although both concentrations are applied in the same way, the stronger 90/10 concentration is only used in medical units under the supervision of a medical doctor.

Pigmentation Treatments

Pigmentation Treatments

Your concerns

There are 3 types of hyperpigmentation, based on what the main trigger is:

– Sun-induced hyperpigmentation is caused by sun exposure – melanin is your body’s natural sunscreen, so more sun means more pigment.

– Hormonal hyperpigmentation is a result of fluctuations in hormones – common to pregnant women (melasma or chloasma) and women taking contraceptives.

– Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is common after an inflamed wound heals – most common with acne scarring.

In all 3 cases, however, the main aim of professional treatment is usually to help reduce the visible pigmentation by promoting exfoliation.

Faster results

Generally speaking, the more exfoliation the treatment can produce in treating hyperpigmentation, the faster the results will become visible. So, a little flaking and peeling of the skin is usually required. Which means there needs to be a little downtime after each peel.

Light, non-peeling treatments can work just as effectively, but this requires more treatments over a longer period of time to achieve the same results.

 PROFESSIONAL PIGMENTATION TREATMENTS

Professional Beta Skin Peel

Salicylic acid is a lipid-soluble beta-hydroxy acid that is derived from the bark of a willow tree. In the Beta Peel treatment, we used it for its effect on the lipid found in the corneum of the skin. This self-neutralising formulation is also effective in comedones (black and whiteheads) and congestion. The treatment will, especially with the first few treatments, cause some dryness of skin and flaking.

Professional Beta Peel with Retinol

In cases where more flaking is required, the skincare therapist might add retinol to your treatment. This may be done in the skin where the pigmentation is resistant to treatment or where the skin is not peeling adequately.

Professional Beta Peel with TCA Spot Treatments

This treatment combines the beta skin peel with spot treatments of TCA – the strongest type of chemical skin peel available from Lamelle. It’s designed for treatment-resistant pigmented and is especially popular in the treatment of solar pigmentation in more aged skin.

 Augmented Professional Beta Peel

This treatment incorporates all 3 peels in one treatment: Beta Peel, TCA, and retinol. This treatment means the change in your skin can be quite drastic – social downtime should be expected. It’s chosen for severe aging, resistant pigmentation, and skin that requires aggressive intervention. Note: This treatment often requires a pre-treatment program of two weeks before the treatment can start.

Problematic Skin
